I've heard everyone loves VII the best. I'm rather partial to it myself. Any comments?

My partner is obssessed with VII. I like it, but I don't really get what all the fuss is about. My fave is probably X for the storyline and X-2 for the game (I have a wee obssession with the dresspheres). Can't wait to play 12 though - only 14 more days!!

My old girlfriend played VII religiously and is the one who put me onto FF. I got into it with VIII. Now I see they have a sequel to VII called 'Dirge of Cerberus', to go along with the movie from last year. I think VII is popular because it is the one that got many people started with the game.
FF XII is great, been out here since November, and is different in character feel I think then its predecessors which seemed more Asian influenced.
As for my favorite; I'm a X fan. Tidus and Blitz ball all the way.
Already looking forward to XIII for the PS3.

Ahh we tried DoC which was just released here - not very impressed with it though. It's more a shoot 'em up game than it is a FF game.

The FF that I remember the best is for Nintendo. The rat tail was awesome. But then I guess being at an impressionable age helped with that.
Any one see "The Spirits Within"(2001)? Great CGI, beautiful. But I thought the plot was on the weak side.

The Spirits Within didn't go over too well with most FF fans, which may account for the box office failure that it suffered. Still I didn't mind it, and at the time (2001) was awed by the computer graphics. Plus I'm a Steve Buscemi fan and thought his characterization of Neil Fleming was very much along the lines of Bill Paxton's portrayal of Private Hudson in Aliens, if not a homage to it. I think Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) went over much better with hardcore fans, but for me, not being a huge FF VII fan I found it okay but nothing special.

I just bought a xbox 360 and see they have FF XI out for it. Is that the same game that is out for PS2; Chains Of Prometheus?

heh... Advent Children definitely went over better. The Spirits Within had so much hype leading up to it that it was such a let down because the story was so poor. Sure, it looked good but it was barely worth watching.

Don't know about XI for xbox sorry kanookie... but they wouldn't make a different game for xbox would they when the ps2 games have done so well? PS2 fans would be outraged :P

I'm curious: Has anyone finished FF-XII yet? I still have two more marks before I can complete the clan hunt, plus some other side quests to finish before moving on to the the final stage of the game (boss fight). I started back in mid November, but got busy with real life. Last played in January.

If done, how was the final closing sequence?
